Legalpedia JournalApplication Process
I had to send my CV along with a cover letter to legalpedia journal.
I had applied for the intern post as a Legal researcher. I was contacted by legalpedia journal through email and was asked me to send an article on a prescribed topic. I was selected after the article was accepted.Duration
10 June 2019 to 9 July 2019First Day
As this was an online internship, there were no first-day formalities and obviously, I didn’t know about their infrastructure and formats.
My first-day formality was to give an introduction via email in which we have to give our field of interests.Main tasks
My main task was to write various articles and ppt’s and did a case study on a landmark judgment. Topics of Article and ppt’s were assigned every week via email and WhatsApp.Environment
The whole team of legalpedia journal was very friendly and dedicated. We had a meeting at the end of the internship and we were given proper guidance on the methodology of researching.
They gave us clear instructions on what to do and how to do it.Best things
The best thing about this internship was that I got more interest in doing Legal research.
I loved searching for various articles and topics from the Indian Constitution and the topic of law of torts(as it was my area of interest). The whole duration of the internship I was very excited about researching and learning new things.Bad things
The stipend doesn’t matter but at the end of meetings, we were given gifts in the form of books which in my eyes is more beneficial than Stipend.
Proper internship certificates were provided to us. The whole team organised a proper lunch with the interns at a five-star restaurant and it was very good.Biggest Lessons
The essence of drafting and researching.
I learnt to pick the quality of content rather than quantity of content and would like to express my gratitude to Advocate Naman Shukla who was the student executive at legalpedia journal whom I contacted every time if I faced any problem during the tenure of the internship.About Authoraprajitakarki
